TECRA DIED FROM DEPRESSION AFTER REJECTION LIKE HER BROTHER

Image
A SHORT LETTER FROM HER FRIEND Tecra With Boyfriend My name is *** and as a close friend to Tecra Muigai I feel I need to tell the true story about what happened to my friend. First, Tecra didn't die in a car crash, she fell from the balcony of her lovers holiday home in Lamu. I was so shocked when I saw they had put statement in the media claiming otherwise. Even by the time of her death Tecra was living away from the rest of her family who were in Nairobi, and she was very heartbroken and lonely. She kept telling us, her friends, that she was the black sheep, and she was in Lamu because she had said some things about the family business that had made her mother disappointed in her. I bet until she died many of you thought Annerlisa was the only heiress to keroche. In fact Tecra is not the first child of Tabitha Karanja and Joseph Karanja to die like this. Her other brother also died from alcohol and drugs, but they don’t like to talk about it. To them all they ever cared abou...

RAYMOND KIRWA : SOCIAL CAPITAL :YOUR NETWORK IS YOUR NETWORTH

Image
There is something in life called "Social Capital." The people you know; the  people who know you and how they know you. Raymond Kirwa : Expert Quite unfortunately, people think or behave like social capital is only needed on weddings and burials. That is why you see someone will not have contacted you in ten years but out of the blue they are sending you a message, "Hello so and so, long time. Btw, next Sunday is my pre-wedding. I need your support."! Social capital is not built overnight; it is reciprocal and does not need money (especially in this virtually connected world) to build. It just needs being sensitive that people have emotions and that you can't sneak into their lives only when you need help. Social capital is massively important and when built and used correctly, it can make a very big difference to one's quality of life. It can save you money, make you money, get you a better job, make things easier and safer, it can save you from...

CORRUPTION IN AFRICA : THE CRISIS OF OUR TIME

Image
Komrade Isaka, Content creator How do I tell a story and contribute to curb one of the worst crimes perpetuated on humanity which causes billions of dollars that could have been used for development to be lost, leaving most of the populace to suffer the faith of high unemployment rates and crimes rates, high illiteracy and school dropout rates, and higher poverty rates? Imagine a continent where six of its countries are among the ten countries considered most corrupt in the world, according to Transparency International. Or one where persons empowered by various states to enforce the law, to protect people and property, and to prevent crime and civil disorder are equally as corrupt as the elected representatives of those states. Or think of living in a place where the cost of corruption is higher than the total combined amount of development aid that is received from foreign donors. This is the reality for millions of people living on the continent of Africa. Corru...
